Training
within the Company is focused
on providing the basic skills
required to work in either a production,
factory or warehouse environment.
Training provided in-house is
not accredited; it is of the 'on
the job' variety.
The factory operates three
production lines; each line carries
a different product. Three lines
are required to meet production
targets and enables staff to work
on a one-to-one basis or in smalls
groups with trainees on dedicated
tasks.
Manual Handling Training
All trainees are given this training
as part of their induction to
ensure they can manually lift
items safely, teamwork is encouraged
as it is necessary to lift heavy
items. Hand trucks are used in
this type of working environment
and training for this is also
provided.
Health & Safety
In an industrial setting training
is given on procedures to carry
out work safely, and were appropriate
to have extra protective clothing
because of the nature of the work.
For example: - work boots with
steel toecap's, overalls gloves
and aprons are provided and need
to be worn at all times. Protective
clothing such as safety goggles,
and high visibility jackets are
provided for additional tasks.
Good house keeping practices are
taught especially in relation
to health and safety issues.
Quality Assurance &
Control
The majority of the work carried
out by the Company is sorting
bottles into the correct size,
colour, type (brand) and shape.
For example: - separating empty
113ml soft drink mixer bottles
from 220ml soft drink bottles.
There is a zero tolerance level
for mistakes. Mistakes have implications
as a wrong bottle type can result
in serious disruption to our customer’s
production line. Trainees are
made aware of the importance of
quality assurance and control
and trained how to carry checks
on work in progress and finished
goods.
