Catering Training

BACK TO ALL ACTIVITIES / SERVICES
Training within the Catering Sites is focused on providing the basic skills required to work in either a professional kitchen or front of house. Training provided in-house is not accredited; it is of the 'on the job' variety. This enables staff to work on a one-to-one basis or in smalls groups with trainees on dedicated tasks.

Training within the kitchen
Trainees are given the opportunity to experience all the tasks within the kitchen such as; dishwashing, fruit and vegetable preparation. Those trainees who have an interest in cookery are given the opportunity to train in sandwich preparation, tray bake and sweet preparation, finger buffet preparation, fork buffet preparation, operating equipment.
 

Training front of house
It is important for a trainee's development that they are given the opportunity to interact with customers. Specific in-house training includes; customer care, service skills, till techniques, operating coffee making equipment.

Training for functions
The core business of Edgcumbe Catering Services Ltd is outside catering. Trainees attending these functions require specific training including; setting up for an event, serving food (plated food, buffet), collecting crockery, clearing away after the event.
