CEO’s Update on Covid 19 – August Services
The last few months have been a very challenging time for everyone in Orchardville. We are very much aware of the additional pressures that this period of disruption has had on our participants, their families, and our staff.
We continue to be guided by public health advice and to put the safety of our participants and staff at the forefront of our decision making.
Recent consultations with participants and their families have indicated a strong desire to return to face to face support and I am pleased to see that we are planning the reopening of many of our services. Re-opening will be on a phased basis as it remains vitally important that we adhere to social distancing measures and best practice in line with public health advice. Our buildings and how we use them will be different, but your key worker will support your return and explain new systems and processes.
We recognise also that some participants will prefer to or need to remain at home, and we will continue to support you using the various virtual platforms that we have successfully used during lock down.
I have been extremely proud of the way in which each and every one of our participants and staff have risen to the challenges of the last few months. My sincere thanks to staff who have pulled out all the stops to continue to provide much valued and needed services to our participants in new and innovative ways. Very special thanks to our participants for their willingness to try new things; for engaging so positively with the many and varied activities we offered during lockdown but most of all for inspiring us throughout the last 15 weeks.
We are excited to safely re-open our services and we will continue to keep you updated with developments.
In the meantime, stay safe and we hope to see you soon.
