Like many charities we rely heavily on the input of volunteers, they play a valuable and essential role in the running of many programmes across the organisation. The opportunities for volunteers are vast, the roles we have range from joining us on our evening activities, our daily TAP2 programme or even our Admin team.
We are always on the lookout for new volunteers who care passionately about the work that we do and are willing to go that extra mile for the benefit of our service users. Some of the qualities we look for are;
· Perhaps some skills you could share
· Ability to use initiative
At Orchardville we believe Volunteering is ‘the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community, the environment, or individuals outside (or in addition to) one’s immediate family. It is unpaid and undertaken freely and by choice.’
Each of our volunteers plays an integral part in enriching the lives of our Service Users but you, as a volunteer will get something in return as well!
· Volunteer Appreciation Night
· Greater sense of community
· Chance to meet new people
· Chance to learn and develop new skills
· Something to add to your CV
· Quarterly Training Sessions
If you are between the age of 14 and 25 we run a specific volunteer programme for your age group called Millennium Volunteers along with Volunteer Now. This programme is great at rewarding you for all the time you give up but also allows you to receive all the support and help you need from us!
If you are interested in volunteering with us or would like more information please feel free to call Fiona McCaughan on 028 90 732326 or e-mail her at Fiona.firstname.lastname@example.org
